WHO WE ARE
Life can be a lot, sometimes.
That’s why we started MiND-AID in 2020 — to help young people find their way when things feel heavy. Whether you’re feeling anxious, stressed, or just need a little direction, we’re here. We’ve supported hundreds of kids, teens, young adults, and their families in connecting with mental health and wellness supports.
Meet Our Team
We’re a small but mighty grassroots team of genuinely caring locals. We believe in making the process of getting help as kind and simple as humanly possible and providing support the way we would want to receive it.

Executive Director
Jody North
Jody is a passionate advocate for young people in Muskoka. With a caring, creative, and down-to-earth approach, she helps young people find mental health and community resources for their well-being. Before supporting humans, Jody spent years rescuing and rehabilitating wild animals across Ontario, from skunks and snakes to bald eagles and bears. Her journey through wildlife work, public education, and even surviving a moose attack(!) eventually led her to Muskoka Victim Services, and then to co-creating MiND-AID to help fill the gaps she saw in mental health care. 💙 Favourite Mental Health Activities: Finding food in nature or just hanging out with trees.

Program Manager & System Navigator
Mariko Fletcher
Mariko’s passionate about building a community where everyone has barrier-free access to the mental health and social supports they need – not just to survive, but to thrive. With a background in case management and program facilitation, Mariko strives to help young people achieve long-term success through support of their mental wellness. She uses a client-centered approach that’s inclusive and focused on community partnerships. Her empathetic nature and solution-focused style help young people feel seen as they navigate their mental health journey.

Nurse Practitioner
Suzanne Corby
With a passion for accessible care, Suzanne brings her expertise as a Nurse Practitioner and Educator to our Mobile Youth Hub. She has an extensive background in her field, having worked in many aspects of health care: community, primary care, emergency, intensive care, transgender care, and northern nursing in all three territories with the Canadian Coast Guard on the Louis St Laurent Icebreaker in the Arctic. She’s bilingual (French/English) and used to be a teacher and a swim coach. Suzanne’s dog, a Barbet named Rosie, joins her on the Hub to provide primary health care to young people. 💙 Favourite Mental Health Activities: Travelling, swimming, snowshoeing, kayaking, reading, and visiting with family and friends. She also tries to spend as much time as possible with her grandchildren (and Rosie, of course!).

System Navigator
Desarae Doolittle
As a young adult, Desarae became aware of the wisdom we gain from both our most inspiring experiences along with our most challenging ones. All her life, Desarae has been driven by relationship development and listening to others, so naturally went into the career of counselling. Through her experiences, she was led to discover spirit and the importance of investing in our own spiritual selves. She grew skills and development in people-centered work, people-driven initiatives and just people! She even grew two little people, and now has the honour of witnessing them grow. When her life took a turn that she could never be fully prepared for, Desarae was led down a path of intense self-advocacy work. Since then, she has strengthened voice and has found passion in using it to help others through their difficult, unplanned and unpredictable life experiences. 💙 Favourite Mental Health Activities: Rock climbing, knitting and road trips.

Intake & Administration
Andrea Sibbick
Andrea Sibbick is a registered psychotherapist and MiND-AID’s Intake Coordinator. As the first point of contact for young people and their families who reach out to us, Andrea helps them take the first step in getting connected to the supports and resources they need. She is there to listen, gather key information about their situation, and understand what they’re hoping for. Andrea ensures each person’s story is heard and shared with the rest of our team, so we can build a personalized plan together.

Community Outreach Facilitator
Kelly Jones
Kelly Jones leads with heart. With a deep understanding of what it means to face hardship, she brings both lived experience and many years of non-profit work to support families navigating barriers to resources. Kelly has a natural gift for building trust, creating safe and empowering spaces where people feel seen, valued, and cared for. Her work in Muskoka has helped bridge gaps between services and community providers, making sure no one feels left behind. She believes in the power of human potential and she shows up every day to help others believe in it too. 💙 Favourite Mental Health Activities: Listening to music and dancing like no one’s watching. Sitting by a lake and taking in the magic of water energy. And hugs! (Wherever and whenever she can get them because they make her feel connected!)

Hub Driver
Evan Bunn
Evan feels very lucky and honoured to be the new Hub Driver here at MiND-AID! He’s been married to his high school sweetheart Lindsey for 13 years, and they have two daughters: Maddy who is 10, and Halle who is 5. He’s a born and raised Muskoka guy, and has a great knowledge of and love for the area. He’s excited to put his love of driving to use behind the wheel of this great Hub!
Our Board of Directors
We’re grateful for the support and guidance of our amazing group of directors.

Chair
James Bowler
Inspired by his own experiences with a broken mental health system, James is determined to help MiND-AID create barrier-free access to care. With a collaborative and inclusive approach, James takes the time to truly hear the struggles in our community. Chair of Youth Advisory Committee
Ray Smith
Ray is leading the way for change in youth mental health, drawing from his own experiences as a young person who once needed support himself. He is driven by the desire to be a voice for youth and help them gain easier access to mental health. With his honest and transparent approach, Ray uses his own experience as motivation to push himself out of his comfort zone. Even when it is challenging to do so, he shows up and speaks up in board meetings so that future youth hopefully have a system that better suits their needs. He also encourages the “older” generation of board members to discover a new path better suited for the youth we serve. 💙 Favourite Mental Health Activities: Writing, cooking, hanging out with family, and playing sports.

Scott Morrison
Many people may know Scott as a Town Councillor in Huntsville, but his commitment to improving mental health across Muskoka is what makes him an invaluable part of our board. As an advocate for youth mental health, Scott brings his own lived experience to his work in creating better access to supports and resources for mental wellness. His strong community connections have been instrumental in helping our organization raise funds and expand our impact. 💙 Favourite Mental Health Activities: Listening to music at home and attending live shows as often as possible.
